An Off Peak Surprise: BMon Cafe

Hello!

So sure I am totally #notafoodblogger cause I haven't been doing any food review in the longest time! Haha! Not sure who can I blame for my "eat first think later" mentality. Maybe my dad cause he's that fat parent so I'm probably glutton because of him!

Anyway, have anyone heard of that app called Off-Peak? It's pretty cool for lifeless poor people like myself wtf. Cause right.. when you feel like you have nothing to do and no where to go, the app will find you some interesting places that give a special discount if you go there at a particular time slot. It's like hey you wanna try something new? Aww you're broke? No problem-o!

Thanks to the app, I was recommended to go to this place called BMon Cafe. It sounded a little shady to me at first cause the shop name doesn't sound like English. And it's unheard of! There's always those extremely popular places like A Pie Thing or Departure Lounge where everybody who is anybody went there before.

Thought of giving it a shot anyway. Because DISCOUNT. *throws confetti in air*

But to my surprise, it's actually one of the best cafe I've ever been to!

It makes my mini Otaku self happy!

The location was a total surprise to me. I eat there every now and then and I did not notice this place exist! It was just at The Strand, right above Jojo Pan Mee! Speaking of easy to find right?

Just need to go up one flight of stairs but fret not! You'll be greeted by a wall of cutely drawn art all over the turquoise coloured wall!

Spot Shin Chan!

There's moe drawings about coffee!

Yeap! Pretty close indeed!

Okay I'll admit. I liked the drawings but was still skeptical of this nicely located place but no one seems to share it on their Instagram, Facebook or Dayre. Why did it so unnoticed?

I'LL TELL YOU WHY!

CAUSE JUSTICE DON'T EXIST WTF!

My doubts were cleared the moment I walked into the cafe!

It's clean and cozy!

Spacious and very comfortably lit

Also super cute with all the Japanese anime ish feeling!

I was SOLD the moment I walked in! I love watching certain anime and the whole moe moe feeling of the shop is super awesome! Not to mention the soundtrack they were playing was from anime and Studio Gibli movies! I was jumping up and down when I heard a track from Spirited Away! They also plastered a some blue sky white clouds scene from some show and I felt so relaxed just looking at them! I don't think it's the mini otaku within me making me go all crazy over this place. It's generally very pretty and most importantly, comfortable.

The corner I sat in during the visit. Comfy right?

There's those Japanese tea table. Suiting the theme indeed! No prize for guessing that I was very happy sitting on that swing. Actually posted a picture of me with the same swing I found in Magic a long time ago on my Facebook. I think if I still like it after so long, I should get one in the future (Note future husband: I love that swing)

Still awesome!

Not only that, they have games, comics and books (which includes Diary of a Wimpy Kid)! How to not feel comfy?

I was very happy with this Kid's corner! Haha

Novels and comics!

Okay now since this a food review so I am obligated to post some actual food picture right? Haha. Ordered both their signature coffee and cake!

Signature Coffe: BMon Plant

Got it's name cause it's supposed to look like a plant in its vase.

It kinda does look like plant right?

This is actually more like the sweet type of coffee rather than bitter type like Black coffee. I am not a fan of coffee so if I find it acceptable it should be quite sweet with not a lot of coffee. It's a very nice drink to sip on and chillax in a lazy Sunday afternoon. A MUST TRY!

What is a cafe without some desserts?

Got myself a slice of crepe cake. The normal me would have played safe and went for the mango crepe but as a girl that falls for marketing tactic just like that, the word "BMon Special" and it being the last slice totally wow-ed me. Therefore, I ordered a slice of this Peanut Butter Chocolate crepe cake.

At first, I was like OMG WHY DID I ORDERED THIS?! It's a little funky and weird. Something new to my taste bud definitely. But my taste buds decided that they like this and it gets yummier and yummier as I chow down on the cake! Not sure what did they put in there but it's gooooood!

Just in case you're wondering what else do they have there, here's the menu.

They also have a separate menu food pasta, chops and other heavier meal for anyone who's hungry.

In the end, I got so comfortable I didn't really want to leave that place.

Got photo evidence some more lol

The boss and waitresses were nice too. Hate annoying people who gives that glare whenever you sit at a cafe for too long. I know I am hoarding tables but still.. it's rude!

Here's their operating hour for anyone who wanna pop by!

Pssstt.. More discounts for students.

Let out a loud aiya when I realize I am not a student anymore haha!

Hope everyone enjoyed my recommendation and if you have time, do drop by BMon! You won' be able to leave (in a non creepy way)!

TTYL!! Byeee~
