Premiere Screening of Lucy

Hi everyone! Today is a special post! It's time for a..

Like my new new shiny pink logo?

Oh movie reviews! You've been missed!

Anyway, as I stressed many times, I am a very busy person! For real! And it's not until recently that I've become somewhat more free to resume joining movie premieres. I am really jinxed. During my exam period there was a swarm of awesome movies that until today I have yet to watch. Maleficient, X-Men and Edge of Tomorrow just to name a few. And right after exam, out comes a bunch of movies that I'm not interested in. So when Lucy came about I was like.. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

The 'it' movie!

But guess what! It's a complete WASTE OF MY TIME! I have never been to a movie SO BAD that I complained about it all the way home and there's buddies to complain with me cause it really really REALLY SUCKED! Sadly I can only rate it ★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (2/10).

And for those of you who are waiting to see my usual spoiler alert logo will have to wait till the next movie review. Not cause I don't want to show it off (I'm actually really really eager to show it off), but there is simply nothing to spoiler this time._.

Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman who are like the 9gag sensations are the main stars of the movie so it's only normal for it to receive this much of attention! Let's not forget the trailer that seems to be super super interesting!
If you haven't watch it then I suggest you watch the trailer and ditch the movie.
The production team literally put the best scenes of the movies in that short 2 minute video. Con people by hyping expectations only..

Movie tickets!

Being stupid to kill time! Haha!
Extra ugly face cause I've been up since 830am and it was 9pm then. Tired.

That one and a half hours was really painful. The first half an hour was boring but it is still believable. But the rest of the movie was total CRAP! It's basically just showing off Scarlett Johansson and CG! The first half an hour I was still very hyped up and was expecting something good to happen but NO! It was followed up by more crap! That excited feeling eventually died down and became a mumble of....
When will this movie/AGONY end?!
I was genuinely excited again when the movie is about to end. Sci-Fi movies are really a make it or break it genre cause when it is overdone like in Lucy, it's a disaster! The CG effects are very very similar to Transcendence. Which by the way is also quite exaggerated but at least got Johnny Depp's amazing till the point of disturbing acting to save it.

Anyhow, Lucy does have really good CG. It's just that the effects are so good until it totally overshadows the storyline. CG is supposed to support the story and not be the focus of the movie. Regardless, I especially liked the scene where Scarlett Johansson's face is melting away and it was sagging and her eyes were all droopy. She scratched her hand and the flesh came out, exposing the muscles underneath. It was gross but pretty amazing CG.

On top of that, Scarlett Johansson is famous for her body and not her acting. So the entire movie her role is to make the exact same face and say her lines. And be creepy a bit by melting away! MONOTONE ALL THE WAY! She is like a robot.. Perfect role for Kristen Steward actually..

Director: " Make your best pissed off face and maintain it!"

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ABOUT OBVIOUS FLAWS IN THE MOVIE! It is totally not suspicious for a lady holding two guns to walk in a hospital. Oh wait.. No one saw it. MAGIC~~

It's also fashionable now to walk in hospital gowns.. right..

And somehow her brain installed Google translator instead of her mastering a new language. Brain power my foot!

I also got a little headache during the movie cause I keep imagining my brain expanding! Hahaha. Pain to the skull. Therefore, I was so tempted to sleep! What kept me awake was the hope that something good might suddenly happen!

There was virtually zero storyline. There was a little plot because somehow Scarlett Johansson decided to spare the bad guy that slit her stomach open and put drugs in her? Like.. WHY? They should change the title to "what happens when your brain expands". The main character should be the brain. It is also super ABSURD! Lucy can actually float when she initially got drugged; like an astronaut wandering in space. Oh by the way, this is the point where the story gets thrown out the window in favour of CG.

Of course, there's some good parts too. I like how Lucy gets to pop out everywhere! And she can control electronic devices! Quite cool! Morgan Freeman also played an okay job la. Good scientist.

He is as usual the go-to guy during a crisis.

Overall, not worth it. Perhaps if you like to watch CG then by all means, be my guest. I really will rather eat than spend my money on Lucy.

New post coming up reallyyyyy soon! See ya! :)

Premiere Screening of The Amazing Spider Man 2: Rise of Electro

Hello everyone!

With all the buzz circulating the latest Spider Man movie, I am so glad that I got a chance to catch the Nuffnang Premiere Screening of The Amazing Spider Man 2: Rise of Electro last night. And it was two days before the movie is up in the cinema too! As per usual, after movie screening my dark circles are exceptionally bad. I am sure it's gonna reach my cheek soon (AHHHHHHHHH!). But I gotta say all this tiredness is so worth it because I feel like rating the movie 10/10! Can I? But since it's not a 100% perfect movie I shall rate it ★★★★★★★★9/10!

Honestly, I did not watch the first Amazing Spider Man (2012) movie because other than Avengers and Iron Man, I'm not really into Marvel movies. But I did watch all three of the 2002 Spider Man movies starring Tobey Maguire and since then I stereotyped Peter Parker being a very emotional, sad and depressed person that got bitten by a spider. The movies are good but that good, so automatically I thought the Amazing Spider Man to be another mediocre movie. My perception of the Spider Man character took a 180 degree turn when I watched the animated cartoon series on Disney XD, where that Spider Man is much MUCH more cheerful and alive. This is exactly how Spider Man is played by Andrew Garfield! Happy-go-lucky, playful, funny and childish at times. This movie is overall way more cheerful than the Tobey Maguire one. I mean.. even Aunt May looks younger and happier with this movie!

Oh you silly spider! Why are you a fire fighter now?

The cast are also so easy on the eyes. Undeniably Andrew Garfield is better looking than Tobey Maguire. On top of that, Emma Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy, somehow manages to effortlessly look sexy and beautiful. I actually prefer Gwen than Mary Jane Watson because she totally brings the fun out of Spider Man. She is also very supportive and intelligent. I absolutely adore her!

Cutest couple alert!

The effects of the movie is also crazy good. Even though I only watched it in 2D, I can tell that this movie will definitely be more immersive in 3D! But I reckon people with motion sickness will feel a little nauseated from Spider Man's swinging and free falling. I am also super amazed at the effects on Jamie Foxx who plays the villain Electro!

Look at that! His skin is transparent and his veins are replaced with blue electricity current flows!

In my opinion, Jamie Foxx did a very good job playing a 'forgotten' person and he seems to be so lonely and desperate for attention. He also gave me a little Stockholm Syndrome when I see how he is misunderstood and hated. It's totally not his fault, nor did he want to become Electro!

The special effects of the action scenes are also super epic! Unlike 300: Rise of an Empire, whose main attraction is slow motion blood splatter, Spider Man 2 only employs slow motion effects at the most kan cheong (read: critical) scenes!

Imagine this scene in slow motion and zeroing in to see the fine details!

The only down side of the movie is that the storyline is packed with too many villains and side stories. But, believe me when I say that the delicate flow of the story was not disrupted. I really appreciate the ending when the insignificant side stories get wrapped up nicely in one fell swoop. Job well done guys!

As for the tween love story between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, personally I find them a bit too lengthy. MORE EPIC FIGHTING SCENES PLEASE! Also, Harry Osborn feels like he is there because he has to be there. He does not play a big role, only appearing every now and then. The only reason I can think of is that he will be the main villain in Spider Man 3. Don't blame me though if my prediction is wrong!

Harry Osborn with Tobey Maguire Spider Man hair. Confused? Yes I am!

Keep your ears open for the soundtracks! They are ALL really good! There are people like Pharrel Williams, Steve Aoki and Alicia Keys producing it! Oh and here's a little hint about my favourite scene. Its related to the 'Incy Wincy Spider' nursery rhyme.

Now.. the million dollar question. Did Gwen Stacy die, like in the comics or did the story diverge from the comics? SORRY BUT THIS IS THE PART THAT YOU HAVE TO GO WATCH FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE THE SUSPENSE IS ONE OF THE REASON WHY THE MOVIE IS GOOD!

She is so pretty! Her cat eyes are so mesmerizing

Guess that's all I have for the movie now. I am actually a little sulky because I did not win any Spider Man 2 themed merchandise..

WANT!

Also watched the movie with Cartene and Alex! Those two are such a joy to be with! And I made a meat eater eat FOUR helpings of salad! Told you Tonkatsu by Ma Maison is a good place for dinner!

Ahhaha cropping doesn't do the picture justice so here's an awkward screenshot. Credits to Cartene

Anyways, Labour Day is coming and so is the Amazing Spider Man 2: Rise of Electro, so make sure you catch it in the cinemas! You won't regret it!

Premiere Screening of Transcendence

Good morning blog!

Blogging at 8am certainly adds a new perspective into things. Usually I blog in the middle of the night and the neighbour's dogs will be howling for whatever reason. But now I am accompanied by the rhythmic sound birds chirping and it's making me sleepy. 1000% sleep deprived because I spent yesterday running around campus and Wednesday night watching the Churpremiere of Transcendence.

OMG! Pixelated Johnny Depp!

YES! I am a HUGE fan of Johnny Depp since Pirates of The Caribbean. I got SOLD for the movie the moment I saw the poster with his face on it. And to make the movie even more attractive, the internet idol, Morgan Freeman is also in it. Unfortunately luck is working against me and I didn't manage to score any tickets for Transcendence. However, I am lucky to have super friends like Elie who gave me her pair of tickets! Quote Mr Editor:
"Elie, if you don't give Steph your tickets, she might bite you..."
I'll be really devastated BUT no I don't bite!

I realize how Cathay Cineplex uses paper cutouts as premiere tickets!
Just like the tickets from Hunger Games: Catching Fire!

Oh and did I mention that Cathay Cineplex is the only cinema with special screening halls. I feel so special!

An extra classy hall

A few small halls for premiere screenings

Anyways, enough of my ticket drama! Back to Transcendence. I rated the movie around ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8/10)! Very high rating so it means.. DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING! I can see a trend soon with everyone rushing to watch this movie.

Transcendence is a Sci-Fi movie that talk about how a scientist, Will Carter (Johnny Depp) is attacked by extremists and only had a month left to live, at most. His wife, Evelyn Carter (Rebecca Hall) was devastated but at the same time, determined to let Will continue living in the digital world by saving his brain's electrical impulses. With the help of Max Waters, the '3rd smartest person' of the trio, they successfully digitized Will's brain.

Evelyn Carter and Max Waters

However, Max soon realizes that the AI they created may not really be Will. What happens next? Find out by watching the movie in the cinema or reading my..

Anyways, one reason why I gave a score of 8 is because of the amazing special effects. Since this is a Sci-Fi movie, a lot of elements is very technological and innovative. For instance, Will's face was like in tiny pixel and in 3D so that it gives us the feeling that it is actually Will but trapped inside an iPad! There are also scenes where broken structures were rebuilt in a matter of seconds using nanotechnology.

All the important cast standing in Will's 'core'

Creepy Will Carter when he just got scanned into the computer.

If I was to group the movie was another similar movie, I would say it feels very much like Inception. Why? Because it is making us play a guessing game of is this really Will or is it just some software trying to act like Will? Much like how we're trying to know is Lenoardo DiCaprio is stuck in his dream or not.

Will Carter is a very down to earth kind of scientist. He didn't enjoy being rich and famous. He is simply trying to make this world a better place.
"Evelyn is the one trying to change the world. I just want to understand it."
An epic and story-critical quote by Will when he was giving speech at a scientific conference. However, when he got digitized, the first thing he wanted to do is to get connected to Wall Street and upgrade himself. He instructed Evelyn to build a solar panel field to sustain his power needs. He also made breakthroughs in nanotechnology and used it on people to create super humans. It appears that he is building his own army and being so power crazy, that it seems that Will never became an AI in the first place. Max warned Evelyn of this and she herself is not sure whether the AI really is Will or not.

Evelyn and some guy standing in the soon to be destroyed (or not) solar panel field.

The movie also involves a strong element of love. Will and Evelyn are so in love that his last concern is that Evelyn will be alone. Honestly, I teared a little when Will died.  Partially because it's Johnny Depp, but mostly because Evelyn was so sad. Definitely prepare a tissue for this scene if you are as emotional as I am. It is also Evelyn's love that blinded her from seeing the potential danger of uploading Will's mind on the internet.  In the end, all Will wanted to do is to love Evelyn as he did before. To hug her, kiss her and touch her once more.

Oh Oh! This movie also reminded me of the song Human by Christina Perri. Will is a very good machine but ultimately, his 'human' love overpowered his machine desire for survival. Transcendence also showed the vulnerable side of humans and our dependence on electricity and the internet. It is like the whole world stopped and everyone is living in poverty.

The two different sides of technology is another central theme. Use it well and it will enhance our standard of living, but use it poorly and it will hinder us. And there is only a very fine line separating the two. The fact that Will managed to collect all sorts of information just by scanning social media, again shows how exposed and careless we are.

The 2 hour movie is very well structured, with a slow storyline instead of jumping from scene to scene. There is also no rush in ending the movie, instead going at its own tempo. No details were left out nor where there any unexplained or illogical elements. I especially enjoyed the fact that the characters are not superheroes. They make mistakes and have their own flaws.

Overall, I think the movie is worth watching even if you are not a Sci-Fi fan. I usually watch movies like Frozen and Mr Peabody & Sherman, but even I enjoyed this Sci-Fi movie.

Okay, that's it for now! I should really pay attention in class.

Bye~

Premiere Screening of Mr Peabody & Sherman

Hello hello~

This is going to be a quick post because I have class later and guess who is completely not prepared for it?

So yesterday I scored myself a pair of tickets for Churpremiere of Mr Peabody & Sherman. Not only that, my tickets were VIP tickets from tweeting a short review of 300: Rise of an Empire. Speaking of lucky!

Announcement by Churp Churp and I nearly screamed out of joy in class!

The perks of being a Churpremiere VIP is that the best seats in the cinema is reserved for you! I can totally get used to being a ChurpremiereVIP! Thanks Churp Churp for the awesome movie experience.

Aw man. No special VIP tickets?

There's actually a measuring ruler on the right but now it looks like Mr Peabody is judging my knees.

Eye level seats! Best in the cinema!

The movie experience was great but it is slightly ruined by the sub-par movie. I only give the movie a rating of ★★★★★★ (6/10). The movie to me was just an alright show, with a few jokes and puns here and there. The jokes are good on their own but the storyline was quite plain and boring.

The story is about Mr Peabody (WHICH IS A DOG! I TOTALLY DID NOT KNOW THAT), who is highly intelligent and won Nobel prizeS and is an industry leader. FYI he also invented Zumba! Sherman is his adopted human son.

"If a boy can adopt a dog, I don't see why a dog cannot adopt a boy."

Mr Peabody has a time machine called the WABAC, which he uses to bring Sherman back in time for history lessons.

I honestly thought Mr Peabody was the boy and Sherman was the dog. Oops

Sherman was overly protected by Mr Peabody and on his first day at school, got into trouble with this girl, Penny. In the process of settling the dispute, Penny and Sherman somehow got into trouble with the WABAC and it's up to Mr Peabody's to rescue both of them.

Mr Peabody in action! Saving those two!

The movie mainly talks about the process of the rescue mission. Unfortunately, the story wasn't very well planned out and the plot seems to be so predictable. I dislike how they're travelling back in time and suddenly Crisis #1 happens, gets solved and Crisis #2 pops out. The lack of linkage between each crisis made the storyline seem dull to me. Perhaps I went in the cinema with too high of an expectation, so I was quite disappointed.

However, each "back to history" moment on its own is pretty good. I liked the moments where they meet a weird Da Vinci and a bunch of manly but silly Greeks fighting the Trojan War best. It's like the whole history was cartoon-ified and became really funny and interesting. Even though the storyline was not great, it does give you some good laughs! I was laughing throughout most of the hour and a half. A very good stress relieving movie.

Marie Antoinette, Cakes and the French Revolution!

The movie's main selling point is probably the whole father-son love thing because throughout the movie, Mr Peabody tried his very best to save his son, even if it means sacrificing himself. He wants Sherman to be knowledgeable and he definitely loves Sherman a lot! He even has to put up with Sherman's rebellious attitude. Sherman is growing up after all. He would like to spread his wings. But I feel so annoyed that he keeps doing things impulsively and cause more trouble to Mr Peabody. I feel tired just watching Mr Peabody rack his brain again and again just to bail Sherman out. And don't get me started about Penny! She's mean, likes to show off and is a SUPER MEGA OVER THE MOON AND BACK BRAT! I would say she deserved all the mishaps that happened to her.

The blonde girl on the right is Penny. I don't like her.

Overall, I would say I won't mind watching it on HBO, but to buy a movie ticket and watch in the cinema, I would definitely choose 300 over this. And even when I'm actually a huge fan of animated movies like Frozen, Wreck-it-Ralph, Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs and a lot more; this movie did not make me scream in excitement. Don't get me wrong, it's not all that bad. But not that good either. It's just not memorable.

Alright~ That's all for today!

Bye~

Premiere Screening of 300: Rise of an Empire

Hello hello~

Currently blogging in uni's computer lab! It's also 8am. So when I look out the window, I can still see the rising sun. It feels like my eyeballs are going to get burned from the bright rays. Perhaps it's because I slept late yesterday after watching 300: Rise of an Empire (Henceforth referred to as 300: Rise). It's a super EPIC movie! I was up blabbering about it on Twitter instead of sleeping. In hindsight, it was a horrible idea to sleep so late when I needed to wake up early. BUT I CANNOT NOT TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE. So here I am now blogging.. as a zombie.

Anyways, on to movie review! I was so elated when I received the invitation email to Churp Churp's Churpremiere of 300: Rise of an Empire, because I usually get them from Nuffnang.

The climax printed on the tickets!

Now, I have actually not watched the first movie; 300. I only knew of 300 from the memes on 9gag. I leant of the popular tag line "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA!".  So my only expectation of 300: Rise is of men going to war. Actually, scratch that. I was expecting PERFECTLY BUILT, HOT, HALF-NAKED MEN going to war. And to my surprise, 300: Rise was really really epic. Epic is the only word that I can think of that will somewhat justify the movie. I had to rate the movie a ★★★★★★★★☆ (9/10)!

See.. half naked men!

Basically, due to some reasons (watch the movie to find out), the Persians are seeking revenge from the Greeks. So this movie is about how the Greeks, lead by their General Themistokles, fight for their land and freedom.

80% of the war is set on sea but lucky for me, there wasn't any strong camera shaking moments. I almost got seasick from watching Life of Pi please.

While the Greek army is lead by Themistokles, the Persian army is lead by the beautiful but deadly, Artemisia. I absolutely loved her in 300: Rise! She definitely played a pivotal role. However, I shall save the details under the spoiler alerts!

I also can't forget about Artemisia's king, the God King, Xerxes. He only played a minor role in this movie but he still left a big impression on me. The impression he left me was that he's completely.. hairless. Even his eyebrows are drawn on. But with what? Ancient Persia has eyebrow pencil?! Maybe he used charcoal..

Waterpoof eyebrow pencil at that.

I could tell that the another major selling point of movie is the special effects. Churp Churp is awesome enough to get us 3D preview passes so I got to experience the 3D special effects and get awed by it. The actors and cameras' movement are angled such to enhance the 3D effect. For instance, when Xerxes swings his axe, he swings it towards the camera so that the axe would sort of pop out form the screen. The special effects are so good that I feel that the 2D version will not be able to draw out the full potential of the movie. So if you're watching the movie, PLEASE WATCH in 3D!

One of the scenes with the amazing 3D effect.

And now for..

Since this is a war movie and it is rated 18+, it is expected that blood is everywhere and limbs will be flying across the screen. But the blood is a little fake. Like get a little cut and the blood is squirting out like water! But I still covered my eyes during the action scenes because there's extremely gruesome stuff like beheading, hands got chopped off, eyeballs flying out and BLOOD EVERYWHERE. This is especially true during Artemisia's action scenes because she is a cold blooded general and will not hesitate to chop her subordinate's head off on a whim. This doesn't stop me from liking her though! She made the other male Persian generals look like little kindergarten children. Plus she had a really sad back story. I feel sympathetic towards her. She is the bad guy you love to hate. She's really good with wars on sea AND she has a great sense of style! And for the guys, she's extremely sexy!

Wore more covered up clothing than anyone else in the movie. Sexiest still!

Okay continuing from my previous point, yes the movie got some special effects but miraculously the actor and actresses have some additional special effect up on their sleeves. To summarize it, I drew a simple picture with paint to explain my point.

That blue colour diamond shaped thing is a blood-proof force field that shielded the main characters from any blood splatter. It was so magical and intriguing to watch the Aegean sea dyed red with blood but yet Themistokles and Artmemisia were only stained with mud. It's like for a rather accurate and realistic movie, they decided to keep their actors and actresses clean. Perhaps to save on laundry..

Also, I'm quite sad that Gerard Butler only had one scene where he was beheaded. This time, Sparta is more like the supporting role to Themistokles and his Athenian farmer army. But apparently 300: Rise was supposed to be the side story to the first 300 movie, so because Gerard Butler's character died in that movie, it is logical that he didn't get much appearance.

Other than that, 300: Rise sends out a strong patriotic message. The Greek fought for democratic freedom and now the Persians are trying to take it away. To make farmers and poets that make up the majority of the population is extremely difficult. However, due to Themistokles' encouragement and strong fighting spirit, he managed to turn these farmers and poets into warriors rivalling that of Sparta.

"Let it be shown that we choose to die on our feet rather than live on our knees"

And do look out for the intimidating Persian navy. They made the Greeks' ragtag group of ships look like children's toys. Imagine Themistokles managed to give the Persians a tough fight with such a weak weapon. The tricks and strategies he used is definitely genius level. And I shall warn the ladies.. His looks, abs and leadership will make you go ooh la la at the end of the movie. Like how I did (hehe).

Delusional blogger

Anyways, although I didn't watch the first 300 movie, I did hear about the nude scenes from it. There is also a short scene involving Artemisia but unfortunately it was cut. So if that's what you're going for then don't bother. But I doubt anyone is that shallow to watch 300: Rise just for one sexy time scene right?

Overall, 300: Rise is a great movie and I think this will become a must watch movie for 2014!

And here's a BIGGER SPOILER from his clip I found from YouTube. Disregard the obscene pause screen k?

And here's an interesting photo of us mimicking the poster!

Alright, that's all for my review!

Bye bye for now~

Premiere Screening of Non-Stop

Greetings earthlings~ Welcome back to my little blog.

As the title suggests, I went for Nuffnang's Premiere Screening of Non-Stop at TGV 1 Utama with my dad.

I cannot emphasise enough how happy I am to get these premiere screening passes. First of all, I have yet to watch a movie in TGV 1 Utama since its re-opening. The cinema looked so grand and space-y with the black ceiling and little lights that looked like stars. I also realize that lately I find TGV cinemas more comfortable and affordable. Plus, their caramel popcorn is cheaper and has way more caramel compared with the ones in GSC that is filled with old mates. I just prefer the overall experience in TGV.

Other than that, I'm also glad that I got tickets to the movie because the movie was GREAT! Personally I rate it a ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8/10)!

My premiere pass!

Liam Neeson portrays the main character; Bill Marks, a US Federal Air Marshall that is supposed to oversee flight security since the 9/11 incident.

Look at that guy's face in the right corner.
Definitely his OMG-I-think-I-just-saw-a-terrorist face

I guess it's the aura of Liam Neeson. Every character he plays has one or two issues with his life. This time, he plays an alcoholic with a sad and broken family. On this US-London flight, the plane was hijacked and all the evidence points to Bill as the terrorist. Typical isn't it? The storyline is actually quite similar to other action movies but there is a HUGE TWIST in this one. You will definitely develop a love-hate relationship with Bill Marks (reasons which will be revealed under spoiler alert).

The movie definitely held us in suspense all the way as we tried to figure out who is the actual terrorist, while all odds are against our hero. There is almost zero moment of boredom. I was playing a guessing game with my dad and ALL MY GUESSES were wrong and I had like 200 people to choose from.

Besides that, the action scenes are good. There is just enough to make the story come to life but not too much till it gets boring. The effects were so good that I actually felt like I was in the plane. I actually has this weird phobia with planes when they are taking off. I am fine when it reaches a certain altitude but I really hate the feeling when it leaves the ground. And guess what, Bill Marks shares the same fear! I was so happily telling my dad that I am not a weirdo after all. I hate Liam for reminding of this feeling actually.. I had not prepared to be sucked into the movie and even feel the uneasy take off feeling in the cinema!

The ladies in this movie is pretty much the appetizer and desert to the main course. They are there just to support Bill Marks and nothing much else. Michelle Dockery who played a flight attendant named Nancy in the movie barely said anything. But I guess it's better that they play this minor supporting role than uselessly vying for extra screen time.

Nancy who barely said anything but easy on the eyes.

She is a very important person to Bill Marks because she is the only person who believed in him all the way! I smell romance~

Since this is a movie review, I guess this is expected...

Okay I actually thought I didn't need the spoiler alert since the movie is seriously similar to other Liam Neeson' action movies. But no harm sharing more right?

So back to the love-hate relationship with Bill Marks. I totally understand why did the actual terrorist choose him to be the smoke screen of their plan. I mean he got that forever depressed face and he's clearly screwing up all over his life. Pretty simple to frame a guy like that right? Plus, Bill's rash actions also made him stand out as a terrorist. If he would have done things more calmly then the movie would probably be an hour shorter. However, I like the way how he protects everyone even they are just strangers to him. The way he protected the little girl travelling alone touched my heart. So I like him and dislike him at the same time in the same movie.

I also find a waste for the co-pilot to be staying in the cockpit for half the movie. In the end when his glasses came off, he was actually pretty good looking. Unfortunately, that good looking moment only lasted for like 5 minutes.

I also mentioned about the effects right? The burning plane, falling aircraft and turbulence were pretty convincing. Something different than the normal-I-shoot-you-you-shoot-me action. I guess normal people do have certain fear for plane crash since it is scary to be so high up and there is nowhere to run.

Overall, it is a very typical action packed movie with NO DULL MOMENTS and it is absolutely worth watching.

Here's some review from my dad too! Technically its more advice than review but no matter!
"Whenever you are boarding a plane and you saw Liam Neeson, Bruce Willis or Samuel Jackson, screw whatever you have and get off the plane! I rather lose some money than die. They're jinxed! When they're on board, something bad will happen!"

Oh he also commented that the movie is quite good. We talked about it on our way home in a very excited tone.

Do catch it starting 27th February!

Alright. It's late. Bed is calling for me!

Toodles~
