Counting My Blessings: Boracay

Hello!

Having vacation withdrawal syndromes again since I just came back from Boracay!

It is such a heavenly place with the blue seas and fluffy white clouds~ Feeling so emo now that the vacation is over. But throughout this trip, I realize I am so so blessed to be there and my life turns out this way. I only can imagine how life might turn out to be different if there is a slightest change in its course.

Why am I suddenly so melodramatic?

The thing is... People often say how beautiful Boracay is but throughout my 6 days there, I feel like the locals are living in a struggle. I saw kids around the age of 8 selling bracelets and other souvenirs along the beach. On their knees begging the tourists to buy. I understand that all these are marketing tactics aimed at our empathy but it's still a very bitter sight.

Or when the locals from the hotel were leading us to the market for a good seafood meal but when it comes to their own meal, they only can afford cheap fishes since they are minimum wage earner. I cant really verify the truthfulness behind what the locals told me but other than high end resorts for the tourist, it's really all just run down housing areas.

Compared to the locals, yes. I am indeed very fortunate and have a lot of things to be thankful for!!
I am thankful that the trip turns out as planned without hiccups
I was a total paranoid penguin at the beginning of the trip thanks to last year's incident haha. So, I reached the airport unnecessarily early. Really thankful that no weird drama happened this year and we managed to reach there and come back in a piece!
I am thankful that this trip happened
Serioussssssly! Boracay is mother nature at its most glorious form and to be able to experience that is like having a good meal after days of hunger - unbelievably satisfying!

I think I had at least 10 of the mango shakes during my 6 days there

The breathtaking view

To swim in clear sea water

Feels great to be relaxing and enjoying some pre-human/pollution nature! I also tired paddle surfing, helmet diving, parasailing and many other water activities. Do not ask me when did I grow balls for suddenly trying out all these things lol. But for the record, since I am back in KL, the balls shrunk back eheh
I am thankful for having him by my side
Happy to see him so relaxed

I am literally a blur potato and without him by my side I think my parents would have to start throwing watermelon in the sea for some weird Chinese soul calling spiritual mambo jambo! lol.

It's nice to have someone to care for you and pamper you all the way (and also someone to take your ootd pictures wtf). My partner in crime to do all sort of weird stunts with me and make me try everything when I chicken out! Thankful for someone to take in all my random and likely very lame spur of the moment

He is gonna kill me for choosing this unglam pic but ah well~

I guess... I'm really happy that we went to Boracay and made countless happy memories! On my personal note, I just feel very thankful that my life turns out just fine. Relative to a lot other people, yes... I am very very lucky. It's like deep down, you always knew you're lucky but to get a reminder note to count your blessings feel pretty damn fine too!

Before I sign off...
I am thankful for whitening lotion
I really hope this thing works cause a caramel-tanned skin clearly doesn't suit me hahahaha

Alright! Off to some resting and ready to get back to work (inner Steph: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

Bye bye my lovelies!
