Weekends are often dedicated to my parents and every weekend, the same question regarding what's for dinner arises. I guess my fat daddy thought about having a good piece of beef after hearing my sister enjoying some Wagyu beef. So we went to The Ship!
Yes you've heard it right! THE SHIP!
I guess this is where generation gap appears. When we feel like western, we'll opt for a 'fresh' place. In a cool location and it seems like the prefect place to chill. Like we would go Tappers, S'mores or some high end restaurant in KL which sells food that are overly priced (I seriously like value for money places! KiamSiap Chinese again -_-). For my parents, they go to places which I call..
The ClassicsThese are restaurants like The Ship, Victoria Station or Federal Hotel.
Of course who am I to complain? But personally I wouldn't go there cause of price and inconsistent quality.
But here I am anyway! Back to the classics
Randomly, my fat daddy just drove to The Ship and I am in the most HIDEOUS outfit! That's basically me on weekends. If one day my blog did get famous, I will be in incognito mode on weekends because I'm severely unkempt! Shenyin looked at me in disgust almost every week! Haha.. I don't even wear contacts or put on foundation! HAHAHA! Severely ugly! My weekend outfit and face going to eat at The Ship and I'll probably get judged please! Thankfully my parents are dressed nicely so I can pull off looking like their maid or ugly teenage daughter since I don't think maids are allowed to play Metal Slug on iPad! Lol...
The not so surprising part is when I push open the door and was greeted by the scent of sizzling beef. The surprise part is when I open the door and I hear loud chattering coming from inside. The last time I went to The Ship is about 2-3 years back and it was so quiet. I vaguely remember that we were the only customers of the night; as if we bought the entire place. Some improvement must have happened in this period so it definitely hyped up my expectations.
[SORRY FOR THE BLURRY PICTURES! I RECENTLY DISCOVERED NIGHT MODE ON MY PHONE CAMERA! IT BRIGHTENS THINGS UP BUT IT TURNS OUT BLUR IF ANYTHING MOVED! SOWIE]

More humans!
Food time! Open menu.. *GASP* I can't afford.. Since I am still unemployed *throws confetti and weep*
I do admire how they changed their menu. It looks kinda new.
Food picture time! I guess in the classic western restaurants, you always get the full course meal... #fatdiebutsogood
Blurry bread. Thank night mode
Okay I don't know how they make these but it is soooooooo good. Actual garlic taste busting in my mouth! Yummy!
Skinny mommy's fav! Salad.
My mortal enemy so yea I have no idea how it tastes like.
Fat daddy always order the right stuff
Sizzling Shirlion Steak! It was crazy delicious. The meat is so tender like an M&M melting in your mouth, no in your hands! I also feel proud I made my fat daddy order medium well cause he wanted well done (another classic option). So it turned out perfectly fine! The portion is just right for a person and it cost around RM 50-60. Haha. Sorry I didn't think I would be blogging about The Ship so I didn't pay much attention to the details.
MY ORDER!
I thought I'll be sharing this but the sister wanted the dish below so yea... fats. Thanks.. Anyway, this is the mixed platter with beef, lamb, chicken, chicken bacon, sausage and fried eggs. Needless to say I struggled with it. But the lamb and chicken is really really good and juicy despite being grilled. The chicken should be chicken thigh so it's quite soft! I was expecting dry and disgusting but no! Perfect! Just the beef is subpar.. I guess my fat daddy's beef steak made my beef look bad. lol.
This dish is around RM 43. Please share this dish for your stomach's sake.
Classic again! Chicken Maryland!
My only attempt to be artsy but it doesn't look very flattering though.
At least this picture is not blurry sigh..
It's a really yummy, up to standard Chicken Maryland. Enough said! The portion can be shared too but I think a guy can finish up a plate on their own. This costs around RM 25.
Oh we also ordered 2 very ordinary drinks. The cocktails look good but I'm with parents so yea.. Ice lemon tea please!
The bill came to RM 170 which is not the price of my average meal but once in a blue moon is okay! I would say I am very pleased with how The Ship has improved in terms of food quality, ambiance and the overall experience. Though one of the waitress kept wanting to keep our plates because she wants to shoo us off ASAP and clear the table for the next customers. Not exactly the level of service I expected from a well known restaurant. So I wrote them a long comment on the suggestion card! In marketing, honest customers like me are very appreciated k!
Definitely changed my opinion for classic western restaurants. No longer a place with a big price tag but the food is good too!
Alright! So sleepy! Way past my bed time liao. See you guys next time!
Bye!!
